Interim Pastor
Timothy L. Johnson
Timothy L. Johnson was born and raised in Yakima, Washington and was nurtured in the faith in the Selah Evangelical Covenant Church. His parents Harry and Carolyn Johnson were devoted lay leaders of the church. Carolyn was the church organist for over 50 years. Harry often served as Church Chair. His brother Darryl and sister Linda live in Seattle, Washington.
He is a graduate of North Park College (1975) majoring in History and English. He is a graduate of North Park Theological Seminary (1980). He was ordained in June 1981 in the Evangelical Covenant Church. He pastored ECC churches for 25 years in East Hampton, Connecticut, (1980-1991) Oak Lawn, Illinois (1991-1998) and Brooklyn Center, Minnesota (1918-2005). He received a Doctor of Ministry from Hartford Seminary in 1991. He became the Director of Field Education at NPTS as well as Associate Professor of Ministry in October 2005. He retired from that position on August 31st, 2021.
He married Kari Lindholm-Johnson in 1989. She is also an alum of NPTS and an ordained Covenant Pastor. She has served as a Chaplain in several different institutions. She recently received an Art degree from NPU. Their son Gabe is a recent NPU graduate (Art and Media Studies). His daughter Chloe is a current NPU student.

Beverly Covyeau
Growing up in Logan Square, Beverly frequently attended Minnekirken with her grandmother, Agnes Lindgren. Being raised in the Norwegian culture, she celebrated many Norwegian traditions with her family. Syttende Mai, which at the time took place in Humboldt Park, was Beverly's favorite. Her son, Christian, was baptized and confirmed at Minnekirken. Beverly and her husband, Ray, live in the city, west of Logan Square. Beverly is a real estate broker in Chicago; she also enjoys working and managing the properties that she and her husband own. She still has fond memories of visiting her cousins in Skien, Norway. Beverly feels privileged and honored to have served as Council President.
Parish Administrator and Caretaker
Susan Tokich
Susan was born and raised in Chicago. She also lived in Florida for 9 years. She holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Susan spent 9 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Chicago – as well as 6 years in Florida – before deciding to return home. Susan has one daughter and one granddaughter with whom she loves spending time. As the Parish Administrator, Susan assists the Pastor, maintains the records of the church, and performs general administrative work. As the Caretaker, Susan maintains the cleanliness of the church and parsonage, schedules service repairs, and performs minor repairs.
Music Director
Yeeseon Kwon
Dr. Yeeseon Kwon directs the seasonal choir and supports the weekly worship service by performing a variety of organ and piano music. Dr. Kwon is pianist as well as an associate professor at Roosevelt University, where she teaches piano musicianship and piano pedagogy, bringing both expertise and scholarship. Dr. Kwon is also on the Music Academy faculty at Northwestern University, where she enjoys providing adult group instruction and teaching students of all ages. Dr. Kwon has published numerous new music reviews and articles, and was formerly an editor of keyboard music. Dr. Kwon is in demand as an adjudicator, workshop clinician, and conference and masterclass presenter. Her performances include international solo and collaborative engagements in the United States and Russia.
